We serve our clients best by being advocates of our employees’ overall quality
of life. During the last twenty years, companies started to realize the importance
of investing in the development of their employees. Today, the new competitive advantage
is not only employee development but contributing tothe success of their personal
lives as well.
WFH in itself contribute to quality of life. By avoiding commuting and smaller tasks
like dry cleaning, our employees are able to feel more control of their lives through
having more time. In addition, many of our employees don’t have the option to work
outside of the home due to domestic obligations. For them, the additional income
directly translates to quality of life for their families.
As a company, here are a few non-work things we like to do as a company to contribute
to our employees overall quality of life:
- Book reviews. Each operating unit once a quarter will discuss a
book on any topic of interest to the group. It is an opportunity for enrichment
and fun. We love to work but we are also interested in subjects unrelated to work.
- Quarterly Forum. Our CEO Kit Cooper has interviewed some of the
world’s most inspiring people who have had success in both their personal and professional
lives. He has gathered best practices from well-known individuals like Richard Branson,
Maria Otero and Gary Player as well as lesser known but equally interesting individuals
like Solly Amon who runs a fish market in Seattle, WA. All employees are welcome
to attend these forums in which the group discussesdifferent themes related to the
subject of quality of life.
- Social networking. Granada Corp fosters a social media community
for its employees. Individuals can create their own sub groups based on their interests
and passions. The main theme is quality of life so people can share information
and practices that help them be successful in areas like family, relationships,
health, exercise, diet and productivity front.
